Summer Holidays

It's not a secret to those who know me that I go on holidays a fair few times a year. I do know that I am lucky to be able to do so, I know for many people going on holiday is a big thing because it is rarer and perhaps 'more special'. I think all my holidays are special, its a time where my family can really spend time together and we create some really good memories.

We normally do something every last week of August, and perhaps even two summer holidays plus others.  This will be my third time (the second time being April this year) in Dubai, it takes me back 4 years ago. And here's a photo that reminds me of that holiday, we took a safari tour in the evening, and I got to take this amazing photo.

PS. That does mean I will be away for a week, so don't expect any posts :)

Smoking

Think of a stereotypical Parisian, and I'm probably right in thinking that your image includes a cigarette in hand.

Firstly, I don't smoke, I have never smoked and would never want to. The smell itself is enough to put me off. I try and avoid getting in the path of a smoker or passing smoke, but I won't object to a friend smoking, even if they ask.

This means four hours after a quick drink in a cafe (7 euros for a pint of lemonade by the way is outrageous!), I still have that smoke smell on me. Right, time to scrub that smell off then...

Embrace the random!

Salut tout le monde!
So very quickly a bit about me, I am British but living in Paris which may explain the potential Parisian theme for this blog. I moved to Paris because I received a job offer, which I immediately accepted because I’ve always wanted to work and live in France, and so far no regrets. I’ve lived in London but I never felt the urge to explore unlike Paris, so I hope to share my experiences with you through photos.
This blog is going to be a way to share my thoughts with you and update you on my life, through photos. We all know that 'a picture paints a thousand words' so what simpler way exists to share these thoughts, and the majority of the photos posted will be taken by yours truly.
The theme for this blog is that there is no theme. I'll be posting photos and comments as and when I see something I want to share. Expect some thought provoking photos, pretty photos, superficial photos, emotionally driven photos, and finally just expect and embrace the random!!
All comments and suggestions are always welcome.

So for now I’ll leave you with my first photo to remind you where I currently am in the world. I took this photo in August 2010, finding time in between apartment hunting to visit this national icon.
