Life is like a box of chocolates..

..you never know what you're gonna get, ESPECIALLY if you wander around a city.

The benefit of arriving early to meet a friend is the fact that you aren't pressed to arrive and you can wander about near by streets, sometimes you can end up finding little gems such as this.

This is a statue of Moliere, in the 1st by Rue de Richelieu, which just reminded me how much I like Paris/France. I love fountains/statues like this, and it makes me happy to know that I have discovered another one.

On a side note, this is also close to what I am affectionately going to refer to as Japan-town. It's like London's Chinatown (NOT Paris' Chinatown which I think is rather lacking, so Paris' Japan-town will be my preferred Asian area despite me originating from China..), filled with cheap yummy eats. Sorry other Japanese restaurants of Paris, you are now dead to me.

p.s. I will most likely write about Japan-town, since I plan on going there ALOT

If I were a betting person...

So earlier this month, I went to the Hippodrome de Vincennes and for the first time in my life, went to a race track. It wasn't anything fancy, and I'm not the most animal loving person you'll ever come across, but I'll admit it was an experience.

You're allowed to wander in the stables, and see the horses and jockeys up close all before the races start.

Yes, I did bet ( we were given 4euros worth, which was two "go's") and I did win, however I wouldn't really do it again even if my strategy was just playing my two favourite numbers. I opted for the placing, which means that if your horse is in the top 3 you win, but a fraction of what the odds are. Playing for the winner means you're in the "big bucks" but obviously more risky..you know what they say, high risk high return!

It's quite nice watching the races in the restaurant, there is good food and you're not waiting around too much, and if you really want to, you can ignore the race completely and just see at the end if you have won or not!

Hot Chocolate...A bientôt

So it's pretty much official, this weekend just gone was the first time I bought out my sunnies and birkies out in 2012. This moment heralds the time of the year where hot chocolate is replaced by ice cream and frappuccinos, and maybe, just maybe, the start of replacing winter clothes with summer clothes in your wardrobe. With all this hot, then cold, then hotter, then ice cold then gradually grey to now 21deg weather we have had... it is probably time to say a bientot to hot chocolate.

The best hot chocolate I have had is at Angelina's, though I would strongly recommend you have two favourite places since this hot chocolate in particular is pricey at 7/8 eur (but worth it), and too rich to have all the time.

I've been to the one on Rue de Rivoli, and it's a posh looking place where I expect Rah's regularly go to have brunches or lunches or whatever, but its also welcome for everyone else of course!

I would recommend the white hot chocolate, it tastes like heaven in your mouth (but be aware it can get sickly towards the end). The regular brown hot chocolate, was too rich for me at the first sip..but each to their own!

Dose me up on amoxicillin

Firstly, I must made it be known that this was something funny I found in one of the blog's out there that exist. I can only wish to be so creative/funny!

So, a month after my wisdom teeth removal, I couldn't open my mouth to "normal" and still felt my cheeks rubbing against my teeth. So, I wake up one day and bamn, one of my cheeks has swollen up again and it feels like I've gone back two weeks (or at least my right cheek) and my gum is all swollen, and I taste blood in my mouth again (er...if you're eating whilst reading this or squeamish.... er yeah sorry :S)

So I'm back on the antibiotics, and hopefully a trip to see the doctor this weekend will just make sure that this is all ok. ( I hear that it isn't unheard of so I'm not too worried..) The only thing is, too bad its not the yellow liquid that I'm getting, but pills instead :(

I'm feeling less wise..

Exactly this time last week, I was at the hospital getting ready for my first ever operation. Wisdom Teeth Removal. OUCH.

I was quite nervous, as this was my first ever operation, therefore the first time falling 'asleep' too. I didn't have the gas but a bunch of injections. Last thing I remember was that it hurt as the liquid went up my arm, then waking up thinking "Ouch, have I been punched multiple times?!"

I had 4 teeth removed, the bottom two were horizontally impacted, and the top two were normal but removed as they would just grind on my gum otherwise. (Or maybe it was to get my level of wisdom to normal levels...who knows?!)

Anyway, what happens is your mouth hurts, and your face swells to chipmunk/hamster like proportions. My procedure meant that the jaw bone was cut in to, so this may mean some people feel less pain.

I was put on painkillers and antibiotics, and slept pretty much heavily most of the week. My body just needed the time to recover, and also one of the pain medications just made me so sleepy.

I can pretty much eat, though rice and museli are forbidden (anything that can get stuck inside the empty toothless hole really) but my mouth can only open wide enough to yank in a toothbrush and whatever food I can squish in! (Hamburgers and Chicken wings are a no!)

That's the highlight, and I'll leave you with something I found on the internet to increase your wisdom :p

Musical post - Dedicated to a monkey loving friend!

Firstly, I hope this monkey loving friend knows who he is!

I came across this on the internet and laughed, so I thought I'd add a touch of musical humour to the blog, since it pains me to laugh still (wisdom tooth operation, more on that later) I'm laughing inside.

Music playing or listening often calms me down if I am experiencing any of the emotions more on the negative side (angry, hurt, annoyed, upset, frustrated etc). Believe me, sometimes when I am left to my own thoughts my over active imagination can just bring me down sometimes. (Ok, maybe that is easy for some of you to believe :p)

Anyway, enjoy this one.
