Exactly this time last week, I was at the hospital getting ready for my first ever operation. Wisdom Teeth Removal. OUCH.
I was quite nervous, as this was my first ever operation, therefore the first time falling 'asleep' too. I didn't have the gas but a bunch of injections. Last thing I remember was that it hurt as the liquid went up my arm, then waking up thinking "Ouch, have I been punched multiple times?!"
I had 4 teeth removed, the bottom two were horizontally impacted, and the top two were normal but removed as they would just grind on my gum otherwise. (Or maybe it was to get my level of wisdom to normal levels...who knows?!)
Anyway, what happens is your mouth hurts, and your face swells to chipmunk/hamster like proportions. My procedure meant that the jaw bone was cut in to, so this may mean some people feel less pain.
I was put on painkillers and antibiotics, and slept pretty much heavily most of the week. My body just needed the time to recover, and also one of the pain medications just made me so sleepy.
I can pretty much eat, though rice and museli are forbidden (anything that can get stuck inside the empty toothless hole really) but my mouth can only open wide enough to yank in a toothbrush and whatever food I can squish in! (Hamburgers and Chicken wings are a no!)
That's the highlight, and I'll leave you with something I found on the internet to increase your wisdom :p
